The FlashDogs are back and this time they’re even shorter

It’s been a while since the FlashDogs have been out and about, prowling the digital streets, releasing fine paper beasts of flash fiction into the wild and raising money for charity. This is sad, because I missed them. But it’s good, because they’re each up to other things, other projects, and that is all very exciting. But now they’re back with a twitterfied version of even shorter fictions. This time they’re working with the VERY SHORT STORY. Stories short enough to fit in a single tweet, but big enough to make you laugh or make you cry or make you…

Creative Input: Turning up the heat

It’s holiday season – time for ice cream and deck chairs and the aromatic burn of barbecues. It’s time for mosquito bites and criss-crossed tan lines. It’s time for my legs to shine bright like matchstick beacons during the one week of the year they’re let out from their shroud of denim. And this year, for the first time in five years, I partook of an actual holiday. A holiday in the sun. A break from the pressure and the strains of everyday life. And I went italianing. It was hot. And it was the best of holidays. Good friends,…

The TBR Files

I’m just gonna come right out and say it – I’ve got a problem. It’s a good problem, but I’m midway through my current read and I’m already wondering what’s going to be up next. The thing is, my to-be-read pile is out of control. I mean, I’m not the fastest reader in the world, and there’s so many books I’m excited about and I’m gonna get to them all but damn why can’t I have another set of eyes to work with?

If you were a book pusher what book would you push?

Did I mention that Double Vision is out on Saturday? Did I mention that it’s only bloody well available for pre-order now? Yes? Maybe once or twice? Well, in an unscheduled interlude to the Double Vision public service announcements, and a possible break (but no guarantees) from cat pictures, let’s talk about books. Sheesh, if you insist. So, it was World Book Night in the weekend, and hey,…

Double Vision – available to pre-order now

I’m just dropping by the dust lounge, casually leaving this link here for y’all. When I say ‘casually’, I mean I’m basically falling over my own feet and my head feels like it’s got a party of drunk squirrels inside it but I’m just gonna play it cool because if I let them out they might just run riot and throw some tellies out of some windows and that’s gonna really piss the neighbours off. But, I mean, this crazy squirrel buzz is because DOUBLE VISION – COLLECTED SHORT STORIES is now available to pre-order (!) – yes, there’s this…
